focus on health
Health communication for the people
From early puberty and parenting teenagers, to rheumatoid arthritis and starting an exercise routine, I write about daunting concerns in a human voice. I love delving into confusing or emotional topics and emerging with explanations that help people understand their options, and possibly themselves, better.
Health information technology: The promise and the complexity
Computerized medical records have made a splash as the big fix for U.S. health care. Can the technology live up to expectations? And how do you get a bunch of busy doctors and nurses to actually use it? I started writing about health information technology before it became a household term. I understand the issue’s many aspects and write about it with clarity and precision.
I also produce video and animation to bring many of these topics to life. My work in this area includes writing voice-over scripts, setting up video shoots, interviewing people (and making sure they look good), and putting everything together into a cohesive, watchable piece.
